Autopsy results from the Bexar Medical Examiner's Office show a struggle contributed to man's sudden death outside a popular downtown nightclub.

Gilbert Garza, 46, of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which is the form of heart disease. The medical examiner also stated the death was exacerbated by a recent struggle.

Garza was at the Bonham Exchange in January celebrating his daughter's homecoming from Iraq when he got into an argument with security guards around 2 a.m.

Family members say security went to check his water bottle for alcohol and found none, then a fight ensued and the guards roughed him up. 

Garza was cuffed and collapsed outside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The autopsy report also showed Garza's blood-alcohol level was nearly three times over the legal limit.
