SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have made another arrest in connection with an operation which they said involved cars being stolen from tow yards and resold without the consent of their owners.
Fernando Carmona, 29, faces a charge of vehicle theft stemming from a case involving a motorcycle that vanished after being towed to United Road Towing's (URT) lot on Growdon Road in February, according to an arrest affidavit.
Police said they contacted the manager of the tow yard and he told them he had surveillance video showing someone removing the bike from the yard.
They said the video showed a tow yard employee releasing the motorcycle to Carmona.
After interviewing the employee, investigators said they learned that Carmona had promised to sell the bike at an auction and share the money with some of the workers.
The affidavit said the employee also told detectives about similar cases involving Carmona.
As we reported in March, police arrested the employee, Robert Tenorio, on a charge of vehicle theft.
It's unclear whether this latest arrest marks the end of their case.
