Teen arrested in shooting near Wimberley HS
Hays County Sheriff's Office: Shooter barricaded in home
A 19-year-old was arrested Friday in the shooting of a 40-year-old man in Wimberley, officials there said.
The victim was shot in the abdomen and taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.
The shooting occurred near Wimberley High School, which was put under lockdown following the shooting.
According to the Hays County Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened in the 300 block of Rader Ranch Road in Wimberley at 12 p.m.
The teen barricaded himself in the home, but was taken into custody just before 4 p.m.
Students and staff members in the school were reported to be safe.
The identity of both the shooter and the victim were not released Friday afternoon.
