NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – A Kirby man died while he was swimming in a New Braunfels pool Thursday afternoon.
According to a New Braunfels press release, officers and fire department paramedics responded to the Landa Park Aquatics Complex around 4:30 p.m. for a person having a medical condition while in the waters of the Olympic pool.

The initial investigation revealed a 34-year-old man was swimming when he appeared to have a medical event while in the water.
The victim was taken to Christus New Braunfels Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The press release stated an autopsy has been order and the investigation still remains active.
New Braunfels police did not immediately release the man's name.
