SAN ANTONIO – Two women arrested in San Antonio for theft have been linked to the 2011 kidnapping of the husband of Mexican pop singer Gloria Trevi.
Several internet reports including People En Espanol and The Monitor in McAllen report Lucia Garza, 39, and Juanita Sanchez, 65, had warrants out for their arrest in Mexico that connect them to organized crime including the kidnapping of Armando Gomez.

Gomez was kidnapped in October 2011 by armed gunman in Monterrey, Mexico and released four days later.
Trevi married Gomez in 2009 and now lives in McAllen, Texas. Garza and Sanchez were arrested Monday in San Antonio for shoplifting at an H-E-B.
The Monitor reported three other people have been taken into custody in connection with the kidnapping, but U.S. authorities have not released any information.
