Victim in Wimberley stabbing identified

Hays County sheriff's officials have released the name of the Wimberley woman allegedly stabbed to death Wednesday by a San Antonio man.

According to officials, Denise Manning, 45, was stabbed to death by Shaun Mireles, 22, on Wednesday morning on Scudder Lane.

Sheriff's investigators said Mireles confessed to the stabbing at the scene.

They also said the pair were involved in a domestic relationship.

Mireles was taken to an Austin hospital for treatment for stab wounds.

Formal charges have not been filed against Mireles.
