Officials have captured a sexual predator in Hollywood, Fla., who had previously fled from San Antonio.
Luis Rapalo, 76, was formerly indicted on Feb. 19 in Bexar County by a grand jury on allegations of sexually assaulting three different children under the age of 14.
Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force discovered Rapalo fled to Hollywood after an investigation began March 19.
Officers positively identified Rapalo leaving an apartment with his wife while conducting surveillance. At that time, officials approached Rapalo and took him in without incident.
"My sincere thanks goes to the officers of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the Florida Regional Task Force for capturing this sexual predator before he could strike again," said Robert R. Almonte, United States marshal for the Western District of Texas. "This is truly a sad case for these innocent children, but with time and healing, my hope is that they will find closure."
Rapalo is being held in custody at the Broward County Jail while he awaits to be extradited to Bexar County.
