San Antonio man sentenced in case of sex trafficking minor

Ivan Gonzales, 32, sentenced to 168 months in federal prison

A San Antonio man was sentenced Tuesday to 168 months in federal prison followed by 20 years of supervised release for his part in a sex trafficking scheme involving a minor.

Ivan Gonzales, 32, pleaded guilty on Oct. 2, 2013, to one count of sex trafficking a minor, admitting that in December 2012 he had enticed a minor female to participate in sexual activity for monetary gain.

Court records indicate that Gonzales and his girlfriend, Ashley Nicole Gonzales, 19, of San Antonio, explained prostitution terminology to the minor, told her how to conduct business, transported her to locations to meet clients to perform sexual activity and posted advertisements to promote her.

Ivan Gonzales and Ashley Gonzales also took all of the profits from the minor, according to court documents.

Ashley Gonzales was sentenced to three years in federal prison followed by one year of supervised release for her participation in the scheme.
