Candlelight vigil held in memory of 3 killed

Pleasanton remembers deaths of 3 of their own

PLEASANTON, Texas – Residents of Pleasanton came together Saturday to remember and pray for the recent victims of violence in their community.

Three people from the small town have been killed in the span of one week, leaving residents shocked and saddened.

Daniel Coronado, 36, was found shot to death in a car in San Antonio on Monday.

"We'd always spend time together. He's a loving father, very good guy and we're just as puzzled as everybody else is," said Gilbert Cumberledge, Coronado's cousin.

A few days earlier, Coronado's friend, 30-year-old Timothy Garcia was shot and killed outside a bar in South Bexar County.

Also last week, 29-year-old Lindsey Wadkins was found shot to death off a county road north of Jourdanton.

All three are from Pleasanton, which is why residents there decided to come together to pray for the families affected.

"As a community, we want to be proactive in fighting crime and showing that we're not just going to sit back and let that rule our cities, and we just want to come together and pray for the families, officers, all those involved in this ugliness," said Cumberledge.

Luis Coronado and Michelle Roberson, founders of the Prayer Box in Pleasanton, helped organize the candlelight vigil.

"I just wanted to tell the families that are hurting that they do have people that care about them and that people are praying for them, for their pain and suffering and loss," said Coronado.

"If we're closer as a community, we can help stop these things from happening," said Roberson. "Whenever we see somebody that we love, going down a road, we should pull together as a community as a family and try to intervene."

Police have one woman in custody for the murder of Lindsey Wadkins. However, they are still trying to track down John Bryan Finch, who they say is also involved in her murder.

On Friday, they increased the reward for information on Finch from $2,000 to $5,000.
