Man charged with stealing $10K in jewelry from Zales

SAN ANTONIO – A 29-year-old man was arrested Tuesday evening on theft charges.

Jose Medina is accused of stealing $10,000 in jewelry from a Zales store in the 5500 block of Loop 1604 West last week.

San Antonio police said a tip led the department's property task force to an apartment in the 1300 block of Rigsby Avenue.

Police said they found Medina there with the jewelry and other stolen items.

"Some of the other property recovered was baby items, a colored television and fog machines," said Sgt. Javier Salazar, San Antonio Police Department. "Detectives are trying to work backwards to link (Medina) to other burglaries" 

SAPD believes Medina is connected with other crimes across San Antonio.

Medina was wanted on an outstanding warrant for assault and he now faces a burglary charge.
