Police: Alleged torture victim no longer missing

Samantha Medina, 22, reported missing Wednesday

SAN ANTONIO – A woman who was reported missing the same day details of her alleged kidnapping and torture were made public has been contacted by San Antonio police.

Thursday evening, San Antonio police said Samantha Medina, 22, had been contacted and was "no longer classified as missing by SAPD."

Police made the announcement on Twitter. No other details were released.

Medina said a man she had been dating for about two months, Ramon Arratia, 34, had tortured and held her in a home on the East Side for two days in November.

She said Arratia believed she was planning to have him killed.

Police did not believe Medina's disappearance was related to that crime.

A relative reported Medina missing when she did not return home.
