Man fatally shot during botched drug deal ID'd Richard Chapa, 38, died Monday night from gunshot wound No description found
SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office released the name of the man who was fatally shot on the city's Southwest Side Monday night.
Richard Chapa, 38, is believed to be one of three people who went to a home in the 5900 block of Stoney Creek around 10:45 p.m. to buy drugs.
According to police, Chapa and the other two people with him got out of a vehicle and two suspects carrying guns tried to rob them.
Chapa and the other two ran back to the car when he was shot in the leg. He died on the way to the hospital, police said.
Police detained two individuals and questioned witnesses, but no charges have been announced. Police said the investigation was ongoing.
