SAPD: Fired employee arrested in restaurant safe theft

Michael Baggett, 21, charged with burglary of a building with intent of theft

SAN ANTONIO – A man wanted for stealing a safe from a San Antonio restaurant was arrested without incident Thursday, San Antonio police said.

Police investigators said Michael Baggett, 21, was fired from the restaurant in July and then broke in a couple weeks later to take the safe.

He was reportedly working with as many as four other people and investigators believe he may be responsible for several other restaurant burglaries in San Antonio.

Investigators said Baggett was captured on surveillance camera and that's how they were able to track him down.

Detectives are still investigating and are looking to make more arrests in this case.

Baggett has been charged with burglary of a building with intent of theft.
