Brock Ward Biography

Brock Ward was appointed Balcones Heights Fire Chief on Feb. 24.

Ward is a native of Texas and a graduate of Clemens High School.

He began his career with the Universal City Fire Department in 1977. 

In 1979, Ward began working for the Balcones Heights Fire Department, where he became captain in 2001. 

Ward has a Master Fire Certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection, an associates degree in Fire Science from San Antonio College and several fire-based certifications.

"Chief Ward possesses a broad and impressive understanding of the Balcones Heights Fire Department, including personnel, public safety, and administration," said Balcones Heights City Administrator David Harris.

"Brock has shown exceptional leadership and I'm grateful for his service, experience and leadership style," said Balcones Heights Mayor Suzanne de Leon.

Ward has been married for 30 years and has a daughter who is currently enrolled in nursing school.
