Man found shot to death on East Side

Michael Whitley, 39, shot to death; Arthur Whitley, 38, arrested in connection with shooting

SAN ANTONIO – A man was found shot to death in the front yard of an East Side home early Tuesday morning, San Antonio police said. 

Officers received a call for someone lying on the ground in the 300 block of Ferris Avenue just before 2:30 a.m. 

Officers arrived and confirmed the victim -- identified Tuesday afternoon as Michael Whitley, 39 -- had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Whitley was sitting in a chair in the front yard of the home when he was shot in the head and chest.  

Police arrested Arthur Whitley, 38, in connection with the shooting.

Investigators said the two men are related but did not release any details on the nature of their relationship.
