SAN ANTONIO, TX – A bloody attack on a man and two women inside a Northwest side home was carried out by someone else, according to San Antonio police.
A detective at the scene confirmed Friday morning that none of the victims committed the violent acts.
Police said officers who responded to a call of shots fired around 11:15 p.m. Thursday in the 3800 block of Sherril Brook Road found the door to the home open. Inside, they saw a woman lying on the floor bleeding.
Officers also found a man shot to death in a bedroom and a second woman bleeding behind some furniture.
Although police said earlier that the women suffered multiple stab wounds, they later said that they both were also shot. The women were taken to a hospital, where they underwent surgery.
According to a detective, the two women are a mother in her 50s and a daughter in her 30s. Police did not know their relationship to the man, who was in his 40s.
The late-night commotion attracted the attention of neighbors, some of whom called 911.
"We heard gunshots. I want to say six or seven and then I heard screaming,” neighbor Jessica Liscano said. "We were outside when they took the bodies. (One woman) had the knife in her chest and there was a lot of blood."
Liscano said she had her husband gather their children and hide them in a bathroom for safety. The violence left them feeling unsafe in a place that they had just begun to call home.
"It's just very scary,” she said. “We're new to San Antonio, and for this to happen, I'm like,'Oh my God!'"
Police are hoping for help from the public in solving the case.
