Community activist George Alejos arrested

SAN ANTONIO – Well-known community activist George Alejos has been arrested and charged with contempt of court.

Alejos is a housing advocated for League of United Latin American Citizens.

He has been an outspoken critic of the San Antonio Housing Authority and an opponent of VIA's streetcar plan.

No details have been released on why he was arrested.

He is being held without bond.
