Army reserve sergeant arrested, accused of sexually abusing young girl

Victim's family believes there may be more victims

UNIVERSAL CITY, Texas – A military member and trusted family friend is accused of sexually abusing a young girl.

The little girl's relatives said the accused man, Josue Aaron Delgado, 35, was a close family friend who they took in when he was a teenager.

"We feel betrayed. Stabbed in the back. I just can't imagine he would do something like that. You just never know about people," said Eddie, the victim's grandfather.

KSAT 12 has chosen not share the grandfather's last name so as to not identify the victim.

He said Delgado was staying with his daughter's family for a month in January. He said Delgado was a staff sergeant for the Army Reserves at Camp Bullis and served in Afghanistan.

The little girl came forward, telling her mother that Delgado made her perform a sex act for the whole month he was staying with the family.

"She saw the dogs playing with each other, and she said, 'Mom, look the dogs are licking each other.' She said, 'What do you mean?' And she said, 'You know, what Josue makes me do.' And that's what brought it out," Eddie said.

Delgado's arrest affidavit said he failed a polygraph test when detectives questioned him about the incident on April 18. He was arrested on charges of indecency with a child by contact and sexual assault of a child. He is in the Bexar County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

Family members believe there are more victims and are urging anyone else who may have been affected to come forward.
