SW Side shooting leaves man injured, police searching for shooter

SAPD: Victim being 'uncooperative'

SAN ANTONIO – A shooting in a Southwest Side neighborhood has left a man injured and has San Antonio police looking for clues about the person who was responsible.

According to a sergeant at the scene, on Jane Ellen Street near Cupples Road, the victim was being uncooperative.

Police said they received a 911 call from a neighbor around 4 a.m. Thursday. When officers arrived, they found a man in his 20s on the porch of a home.

He told officers he was outside waiting for an acquaintance to arrive, and when she showed up, she had someone else with her. The victim said that other person shot him, wounding him multiple times.

At the scene, police said there were enough shell casings on the ground to make them think there may have been more than one shooter.

Officers spent several hours collecting evidence and knocking on the doors of neighbors, searching for answers.

Police said the man who was shot should survive.
