Woman's body found in Guadalupe River

Suzanne Arnold of Saginaw, Texas was missing since Sunday

GUADALUPE COUNTY, Texas – The body of a 49-year-old Fort Worth-area woman was pulled Wednesday from the Guadalupe River in Seguin.

Sgt. Zachary McBride of the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office said the body of Suzanne Arnold, of Saginaw, was discovered around 12:30 p.m. by a recovery team near the 1000 block of River Trail about 3-and-a-half miles near the 7000 block of FM 466, where she fell in.

McBride said Arnold had attended a barbecue with her boyfriend Sunday afternoon.

Heavy rain slowed down initial rescue and recovery efforts, McBride said.

"We used everything that we could," he said. "We brought in Travis County search and rescue with the dogs to do the ground search with dogs and K9s just to make sure that she wasn't somewhere on the property.  We brought in a DPS helicopter to fly the river. We brought in the Seguin FD."

Foul play is not suspected, McBride said.
