'Pokemon Go' players find man's body in New Braunfels cemetery

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – A man and woman found a man's body Thursday while searching for digital creatures using the "Pokemon Go" app in a historic New Braunfels cemetery.

According to the Comal County Sheriff's Office, the body was discovered at the Saint Joseph Cemetery on FM 482 near Schwab Road off Interstate 35.

Sheriff's officials on Friday identified the victim as Christopher Robert Lowe, 34. Investigators said it appeared Lowe had been killed recently and because of suspicious circumstances, his death was being investigated as a homicide.

Investigators told the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung that the search for Pokemon had nothing to do with the death. An autopsy was ordered.

"Pokemon Go" players across the country have found bodies while searching for the digital creatures. The game's developers tend to place the creatures in sites with historical markers, like tourist attractions and cemeteries.

Some players have been robbed and stabbed, others fell off a cliff and one driver crashed into a police car while playing the popular game.
