SA fugitive accused of skipping court on child sex charges

Ruben Rivera Hernandez, 48, charged with sexual assault of girl, 6

SAN ANTONIO – Before a judge or jury could decide if he was guilty of child sex charges, Ruben Rivera Hernandez chose a different path. The U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force says he went into hiding.

Hernandez, 48, was supposed to appear in court in May 2014 on charges of first degree sexual assault of a 6-year-old girl.

"Hernandez was originally arrested on sexual assault charges but was subsequently released on bond. He allegedly violated conditions of that bond because he failed to report to court and he went into hiding," said Deputy Chris Bozeman.

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force first asked for the public's help to find Hernandez in June 2015.

"We need your help to track him down so he can face his charges," said Bozeman.

The last time he was seen, Hernandez was living on the northwest Side of San Antonio.

He has brown eyes and black hair.

Hernandez is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.

If you have any information on Hernandez's whereabouts, contact the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at 210-657-8500.
