SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department is asking for help identifying a man wanted in a purse snatching.
According to a police report, a man on Sept. 2 approached a woman at a gasoline pump and told her to give him her purse at a gas station in the 8300 block of Jones Maltsberger Road.

When the woman asked the man if he was joking, he pushed her against her vehicle, the report said.
The woman said she saw the man reach into his jacket and noticed the black handle of what could be a handgun. The man then shoved something hard into the woman's right side and threatened to shoot her if she did not give him her purse.
The woman said the man grabbed her purse and ran to his vehicle, which was parked near the victim's car.
Anyone with information about the man or the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP (7867). Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the man.
