The gifts awarded will give a boost to programs that support education and health care for children.
"It's a core value for Valero to be able to give back to our communities. And this is really, the Valero Texas Open, is our platform to pull our business partners together. Our volunteers make a big effort to raise the money and get it back to the communities," Valero 2016 Open Chairman Lane Riggs said.
Valero set a record this year when it raised $10.5 million at the golf event, making it the leading charity event on the PGA Tour.
The rest of the money will be distributed to across the country, where Valero has major operations, Riggs said.
