SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Water System crews are responding to four sanitary sewer overflows that were a result of significant rainstorms Saturday. The spill amounts at all four locations have exceeded the requirement for public notice according to a news release from SAWS.

- Inside Lackland Air Force Base adjacent to Chappie James Way Road (Leon Creek)
- The 500 to 700 block of Holbrook Road (Salado Creek)
- 600 W. Mitchell (San Pedro Creek)
- 8703 Old Corpus Christi Road (San Juan Ditch)
According to the release, no adverse effects are expected in Leon, Salado and San Pedro creeks and the San Juan Ditch since the spills were heavily diluted by storm water. SAWS staff is monitoring the areas and will conduct cleanup operations once floodwaters recede and it is safe to proceed.
Until SAWS staff deems the situation safe it is recommenced to people in the affected areas to not swim in affected lakes, streams or ponds, to wash hands thoroughly before preparing or eating food, always wash hands after contact with animals, soil or diapers and private well owners may wish to treat their well water, have their well water tested and inspect their wells for proper siting, construction and maintenance.
