SAN ANTONIO – VIA Metropolitan Transit introduced two new mascots for the first time in 35 years. Primo and Safety Sofie will join Buster the Bus in representing public transportation at school and community events.
VIA hopes the mascots will help its continued effort to promote safe travel in the area.

Primo is a next generation bus that represents VIA’s expanding service. Safety Sofie is a superhero who is going to reach out to schools to teach children to ride safely and to walk safely in busy areas.
“We're just really happy to have them out in the community, representing us, reminding people of the benefits of public transportation and the importance of — no matter what mode of transportation you take — the importance of doing so safely,” said Jeffrey Arndt, CEO of VIA Metropolitan Transit.
The mascots will make their public debut on Saturday at a birthday party that will be attended by dozens of area mascots.
