No arrest in 1994 bus stop slaying north of downtown

SAN ANTONIO – David Garza was waiting for a bus with his wife when he was asked one final question: What time will the bus arrive?

Garza was shot in the head. The gunman has not been caught.

It happened on April 3, 1994, on the 3700 block of Broadway, north of downtown.

San Antonio police said Garza was waiting for the bus with his wife, sitting on a bench, when the gunman walked up at 10:40 p.m.

Despite being shot in the head, Garza managed to run a short distance, police said. The gunman was still firing at Garza, who collapsed in a restaurant parking lot.
