SA father killed after answering knock on door

SAN ANTONIO – The murder of a San Antonio father at his home where his three young children were has stumped police since it happened in 1990.

Fred Arechiga, 34, answered a knock at the door on March 4.

Police said he was "talking to a man described as having a deep voice" when gunshots rang out.

Arechiga died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said witnesses saw a dark-colored car parked in Arechiga's driveway right after hearing the shots.
