Teen claims self-defense after stabbing, police say

Victim allegedly bullied suspect

A teenager told police he acted in self-defense after allegedly stabbing a man twice his age Sunday morning. 

According to San Antonio police, a man in his 30s was drinking with a group of people in the backyard of a home in the 100 block of North San Gabriel Avenue.

Witnesses told police the older man was picking on a 16-year-old boy throughout the night. Police said at some point, around 3 a.m., the teenager grabbed a knife and stabbed the man twice, in his shoulder and stomach. 

The man was taken to University Hospital. The teenager was taken into questioning.
