Victim in South Side shooting dies, gunman arrested, authorities say

SAN ANTONIO – A shooting victim died Friday afternoon and the gunman is in jail tonight, authorities said.

The shooting happened on San Casimiro near Roosevelt Avenue on the city’s South Side.

Alex Nerio, 21, is charged with murder. He was picked up after the crime.

Police said the 21-year-old victim, Jesus Moron, pulled up to Nerio’s house and got out of his car with two other people. When Nerio saw them, he went into his house, grabbed a gun and opened fire.

Moron was shot in the back. He was taken to the San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he later died.

Police believe Nerio and Moron knew each other and may have had issues in the past.
