SAN ANTONIO – A couple found dead Monday at a home in East Bexar County were the victims of a murder-suicide, the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office said Tuesday.
Cindy De Hoyos, 40, and Robert Alvarez, 46, died of a gunshot wound to the head, officials said.

De Hoyos's manner of death was homicide while Alvarez's manner of death was suicide, officials said.
Alvarez and De Hoyos were found shot in a bed inside a home in the 4200 block of Stanley Park around 9 a.m. Monday morning.
Neighbor shocked to learn couple had been shot to death
A neighbor of a man and woman said he heard someone knocking frantically on his door around 9 a.m.
"It was a different knock," said the neighbor, who asked not to be identified. "It wasn't a normal knock, you know. It was almost like she was trying to break in or something. She needed help."
The neighbor said when he rushed out of the door, the woman who had been knocking was already across the street, telling other neighbors that her father and stepmother had been shot.
The neighbor said he knew the couple well and was saddened to hear what had happened.
