Hazmat crews called to investigate foul-smelling odor on West Side

Incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Thursday in 9500 block of Everton St

SAN ANTONIO – A Hazmat crew was called to a neighborhood on the city's West Side to investigate a foul-smelling odor late Thursday night, fire officials at the scene said.

The incident began around 9:30 p.m. when the fire department received a call about an odor in the 9500 block of Everton Road.

Fire crews searched the neighborhood before calling in both a hazmat crew and the police department to assist in their investigation.

After several hours of checking the air quality and testing for narcotics, officials said they were unable to determine either a source or if anything was actually wrong.
