Gunman at large

SAN ANTONIO – A man is on the run after shooting his sister's ex-boyfriend in the butt, then pistol whipping him when he ran out of bullets, police said.

Authorities were called out to the intersection of South Laredo and South Trinity Streets on the West side and found a man with a gunshot wound to his buttocks.

The victim told police his ex-girlfriend's brother spotted him walking in the area, became upset and got out of his car to confront the victim. The suspect shot at the man six times, striking him once.

Police said the victim tried to get away, but the gunman chased him down the bridge while firing off shots and pistol whipped the victim when he ran out of bullets. According to police, the suspect got back in his car, leaving the victim to crawl out of a nearby creek bed.

Authorities said they went by the suspect's house but the suspect was not there. The suspect's family told police he had come by the house to tell them what happened, then left.
