San Antonio resident wins $1 million lottery prize

Mega Millions ticket sold at HEB

SAN ANTONIO – Herlinda Chavarria purchased a winning Mega Millions lottery ticket at HEB in Castroville for the drawing held on June 13.

Chavarria matched all five numbers but not the Mega Ball number, earning her the second-tier prize of $1 million.

Since its induction in 1992 the Texas Lottery has generated more than $26 billion in revenue for the state.

Additionally, $50 billion in prizes has been awarded to Texas lottery players.

The Texas Lottery has contributed $20 billion in support of public education in Texas via the Foundation School Fund.

A veterans themed scratch ticket debuted in 2009 and has since contributed $77 million towards programs that support Texas veterans.
