Man was looking at phone before fatal crash, witnesses tell police

SAN ANTONIO – Witnesses said a driver was looking at his phone moments before a fatal crash Saturday night.

Authorities were dispatched to Wurzbach Parkway between the Wetmore and Starcrest exits for a single car accident on Saturday.

Witnesses told police the driver was looking at his phone when he lost control of his car and struck a pillar.

Emergency responders took the man to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Traffic investigators are looking into the crash.
