These businesses are offering free services to victims of Hurricane Harvey

SAN ANTONIO – As people from Texas' Coastal Bend and Houston area seek shelter from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey in San Antonio, businesses are offering freebies to those who are displaced.

Below are the agencies and businesses offering freebies to victims of Harvey:

Texas state parks

Hurricane Harvey evacuees can stay for free in Texas state parks. Texas Parks and Wildlife asks evacuees who intend on camping to call the parks to check availability. Some parks in coastal and south Texas regions were closed due to the hurricane.

The map below lists parks that have space for evacuees to camp:

 

Lockaway Storage and UNITS Moving and Portable Storage of San Antonio

The businesses are partnering to offer a free month of storage to Texas residents if their home or business has been affected by the recent flooding. Portable storage containers and traditional self storage units are available for free for one month.

San Antonio Zoo[if gte mso 9]>

“Our doors are open to you! Through Friday, September 1,” the zoo said in a Facebook post. “We're providing free standard zoo admission to those who have been displaced from their homes in select Texas counties.”

San Antonio Aquarium

From August 28 through September 3, the San Antonio Aquarium and I-Guana Jump will offer free admission to residents of all counties that were evacuated during Hurricane Harvey. Guests must bring a photo ID with their address.

Santikos Theaters

Those displaced due to Harvey can catch a free movie at any Santikos theater through Sept. 6. Santikos asked moviegoers who want to get in on the deal to bring a valid picture ID and then select their seat.

The offer extends to residents of any Texas county that has been declared either a state or federal disaster area.

The DoSeum

The DoSeum is offering free admission to victims of Hurricane Harvey from August 30 through September 30. The offer applies to residents of Houston, the Coastal Bend region and surrounding areas as well as members of The Houston Children’s Museum and The Thinkery.

The museum asks guests to bring a photo ID. Houston Children's Museum and The Thinkery members must show their membership cards.

The Witte Museum is offering free admission to the museum through Sept. 1. The museum asks that people show a valid picture ID at the admissions desk and noted that the offer is only valid for those from the Coastal Bend region, Houston and surrounding areas.
