Man tied to series of bank robberies in San Antonio, police say

Dorian Degage, 28, believed to have robbed banks at least since May

SAN ANTONIO – A local man has been linked to several bank robberies in San Antonio dating back at least to May, San Antonio police said.

Police arrested Dorian Degage, 28, Tuesday in connection with one case. However, an arrest warrant affidavit said investigators believe he committed several other robberies.

The affidavit said police were called to Lone Star National Bank, located in the 300 block of N. Loop 1604 W., for a report of a robbery May 10.

Workers told investigators a man walked in with a note, demanding exactly $2000 in large bills, took the cash and note, then left the bank.

That case had remained unsolved until last week.

The affidavit said police already had identified Degage as a suspect in a series of bank robberies when they received a tip Aug.  21, also linking him to the May robbery.

Degage was booked into jail Tuesday on a single count of robbery. It appears, though, that additional charges may be filed against him at a later date.
