SAN ANTONIO – A former University Hospital employee was arrested for the second time in four months for sex crime allegations.
Jaime Santos was already out on bond after being charged with invasive visual recording. When asked Friday about the charge and the 18 other felony charges he faces, all he said was, "No comment."
Santos was first arrested and charged on May 1 after being accused of recording a 12-year-old girl in a bathroom without her permission and sending the material out through the Kik messenger app. He was able to make bond and go home.
Investigators later found that Santos also collected and sent out child pornography through the Kik app. He now also faces felony charges for those allegations.
"Upon further investigation, what the investigators looked into, they found out that it was not only the invasive visual recording that he possessed at the time. When they looked into it further, they did discover these additional offenses. Each count is a separate offense,” said Deputy Marin Mata, with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
Santos faces a total of 19 counts. After being arrested in May, he was able to keep his job as an emergency technician at University Hospital for seven weeks, helping to prepare patients and helping with treatments.
He stopped working at the hospital on June 18. Earlier this week, a hospital spokesperson said the hospital didn't know about the allegations.
There is no word on whether bond has been set for the latest charges. At last check, Santos is still behind bars.
