Sex offender who targeted teens, woman wanted for new charge

James Wesley Luce, 51, accused of violating sex offender registry rules

SAN ANTONIO – A convicted sex offender who was given probation for sex crimes against two teenage girls is facing time behind bars on charges related to his conviction.

James Wesley Luce, 51, received 10 years' probation in April 2015 for charges of indecency with two girls who were then 14 and 15 years old. He was required to register quarterly, for the rest of his life, as a sex offender.

The state's sex offender registry site shows Luce did that shortly after his arrest, but he's now listed as absconded.

"In 2015, a warrant was issued for Luce's arrest, following an indictment filed with the Bexar County 399th District Court. The indictment alleged that Luce failed to register a change of address with the local law enforcement authority and absconded from supervision," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Chris Bozeman.

Luce served four years and seven months in a Florida prison for a 1998 rape of a 38 year old woman.

Luce is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 205 pounds. He has partially gray hair and blue eyes.

"His last known place of residence was on the South Side of San Antonio," Bozeman said.

If you have any information on Luce's whereabouts, call the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at 210-657-8500.
