DPS chase with motorcycle ends in crash, 2 hospitalized

Pair were going over 100 mph, troopers say

SAN ANTONIO – A man and a woman are hospitalized after they crashed their motorcycle while going more than 100 miles per hour overnight, the Texas Department of Public Safety said Friday.

The crash occurred around 11:40 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 90 West and Interstate 35 on the city's South Side.

DPS troopers said they clocked the motorcycle going more than 100 miles per hour on Highway 90 eastbound before a short chase ensued.

When the motorcyclist attempted to take the exit ramp to Interstate 35 South he hit a guardrail and lost control, troopers said.

The pair, both in their 20s, were thrown off the bike. Emergency crews transported both of them to University Hospital with numerous injuries.
