5-year-old girl killed in head-on crash on northeast side

Crash happened on southbound Austin Highway near Corinne Drive

SAN ANTONIO – A 5-year-old girl was killed and four others were hospitalized following a head-on crash on Austin Highway near Corinne Drive on Saturday.

Police said the driver of a Porsche going southbound on Austin Highway swerved into oncoming traffic to avoid hitting a Toyota Camry that got onto the highway from Ira Lee.

The driver of the Porsche hit a Toyota Corolla carrying 5-year-old Lilliana Orona head-on.

Five people, including Orona, were taken to area hospitals. Orona died at an area hospital.

Authorities said intoxication wasn't a contributing factor in the crash. 

Authorities said there are no charges pending in the crash.
