Family identifies more victims of Sutherland Springs church shooting

At least 26 killed, 20 injured

SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, Texas – A congregant who wasn’t at a Texas church when a gunman opened fire says his pregnant cousin and her in-laws were among those killed.

Nick Uhlig tells The Associated Press that his cousin Crystal Holcombe and her in-laws Karla and Bryan Holcombe died in Sunday’s attack at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs. Crystal Holcombe was eight months pregnant.

Uhlig says Bryan Holcombe did prison ministry, adding that he would go to the prison with a ukulele and sing for the inmates.

Uhlig earlier said that he was not at church on Sunday because he was out late on Saturday.

26 killed, 20 wounded in mass shooting; Gunman dead

The shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas left 26 people -- ranging in age from 5 to 72 years old -- dead and 20 wounded, authorities said.   

Devin Patrick Kelley, of New Braunfels, has been identified as the gunman.

Kelley walked into the First Baptist Church and began shooting around 11:20 a.m., before fleeing in a vehicle, Wilson County Sheriff Joe Tackitt said.

Witnesses said Kelley was dressed in all black tactical gear and a ballistic vest. A Department of Public Safety official said he was carrying a Ruger ARb assault-type rifle.
