Man found fatally shot underneath car at West Side intersection identified

Fernando Hernandez Jr., 37, was shot and killed early Saturday

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner's office has identified the man shot and killed early Saturday morning on the city's West Side.

Fernando Hernandez Jr., 37, was found around 2:15 a.m. at the intersection of South Calaveras Street and Dorris Street lying underneath a car wounded and unresponsive. Hernandez was taken to University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's office said Hernandez was shot in the abdomen.

Police said they have still not located any witnesses who saw the shooting and are continuing to investigate the murder.

There is no word of any suspects.
