Fire at Castle Hills restaurant causes $90k in damage

CASTLE HILLS, Texas – A fire at a Castle Hills restaurant caused about $90,000 in damage, according to an estimate by fire investigators.

They said the fire broke out shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday near a food prep table at Tule Mexican Restaurant, located in the 2200 block of NW Military.

Castle Hiills firefighters ended up calling for help in battling the fire from four other agencies.

Although they kept the flames from spreading throughout the strip mall, smoke did seep into the business next door, Beast Gym.

However, the gym was able to open and operate as normal Thursday morning.

The restaurant will remain closed indefinitely.

Investigators said nearby businesses had their water shut off as a result of the fire. It will be restored later Thursday.

It’s unclear whether anyone was inside at the time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

There were no injuries reported.
