SAN ANTONIO – Three San Antonio area Walmart locations will close by October as the company continues to remodel and upgrade stores across the state.
Anne Hatfield, a Walmart spokesperson, told KSAT the impacted stores will be the Walmart Neighborhood Markets located at 6938 Walzem Road, 3418 E. Southcross and 3847 Pleasanton Road.

Hatfield said Walmart has stores near the locations that are closing.
Employees have been notified of the closures, and Hatfield said the company’s priority is to take care of its associates.
Walmart will accommodate any associate who wants to transfer to another nearby store.
Pharmacy staff will also work with customers to transfer prescriptions to another nearby location.
Hatfield said the changes come as Walmart makes customer upgrades that include grocery delivery and online pickup services.
“Retail is changing quickly, and innovation allows us to serve customers in ways never before possible,” Hafield said. “From grocery delivery, grocery pickup, pickup towers and remodeled stores, we are spending $277 million in San Antonio and throughout Texas this year on new ways to save customers time. These new features and expanded conveniences complement our portfolio of stores in the market.”
The three stores will officially close Oct. 12.
