SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with a bold burglary, one that was pulled off while the victims were asleep inside the home.
Xavier Acosta is believed to be one of four people who committed the crime on Jan. 21.
An arrest warrant affidavit said police obtained surveillance video showing four people, at first, breaking into a pickup parked in the driveway and taking a backpack.
It said the video also shows them entering the home and leaving with some items.
A woman who lives in the home reported that her Apple Mac Book Pro was among the items that were stolen.
The affidavit said police “pinged” it, or traced it through a signal, to Acosta’s home.
Officers conducted a search there but did not find the laptop computer, the affidavit said.
Investigators, however, say they did find records and surveillance video from a pawn shop, showing Acosta and another suspect selling other items that were stolen from the home, women’s jewelry.
Acosta was booked into jail on a charge of burglary.
