Man killed in shooting in south Bexar County, shooter detained, BCSO says

Victim identified as Danny Kennedy

SAN ANTONIO – A man is dead and his girlfriend in custody on a murder charge following a shooting in South Bexar County on Friday, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies responded to a mobile home park in the 4300 block of Hardy Road around 8:30 p.m. Friday and found 53-year-old Danny Kennedy with a gunshot wound to the chest, authorities said. Kennedy's girlfriend, 59-year-old Venetta Jean Oneill, was arrested at the scene and is charged with his murder.

The Sheriff's Office said the pair were in a romantic relationship.

Authorities said it appears there was some sort of disturbance outside of the mobile home and that neighbors and witnesses called police after hearing gunfire.
