BCSO: Man in custody after chase turns to standoff in SW Bexar County

Justin Moreno, 23, is charged with evading arrest

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man after he led deputies on a chase before barricading himself inside a trailer at a Southwest Bexar County mobile home park.

Deputies arrested Justin Moreno, 23, at the Lazy Acres Mobile Home Park in the 8600 block of New Laredo Highway, not far from I-35, after he bailed from his pickup truck.

Authorities say they attempted to pull Moreno's vehicle over for speeding around 9:30 p.m. Thursday and that's when he sped off. Inside were two two teens ages 13, and 16, officials said.

Deputies said Moreno eventually barricaded himself inside a friend's trailer and refused to come out.

Law enforcement officials called for the Eagle helicopter along with K-9 and additional units just before forcing entry into the home. Moreno was taken into custody without incident, the BCSO said.

Moreno is charged with evading arrest, endangering a child and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
