4 wounded in shooting; McManus arrests gunman

Two victims suffered life-threatening injuries, SAFD says

SAN ANTONIO – Four people were wounded in a shooting Tuesday evening in the 6900 block of San Pedro Avenue.

The San Antonio Fire Department said two of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries, including one who was wounded in the abdomen multiple times.

Witnesses nearby said they heard five shots.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said he personally arrested the gunman around four blocks from the scene.

McManus said the gunman and the victims worked for a moving company.

The wife of one of the victims said she was told the suspect was upset about his paycheck and went on a shooting rampage.

Some of the victims ran to McDonald's next door for help. Another victim ran across San Pedro Avenue to a Big Lots store, where the manager called 911.

McManus said he didn't know what triggered the shooting.

The McDonald's was closed for several hours while police investigated.

The company, Movers of San Antonio, would not comment.
