2nd arrest made in South Side fatal shooting

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have arrested a second suspect in a fatal shooting that took place on the city's South Side.

Kevin Scott Ellis, 21, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of capital murder. 

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Ellis was with 24-year-old Ace Martinez when he allegedly shot and killed Michael Calderon, 22, on Sept. 18.

Calderon was working on his house in the 100 block of W. Vestal Place when three men came up, exchanged words and then beat him. One of the men, believed to be Martinez, then shot him and killed him.

The affidavit said the incident was caught on surveillance video. In it, Ellis is seen taking money from the victim's pocket during the beating. 

The affidavit said that detectives have interviewed a third suspect but he or she has yet to be identified.
